Lauras Bakery is a business venture started in 2010 by entrepreneur Martin Kubert. The sleek store design created by Johannes Torpe Studios and the delicious bread and cakes can be appreciated in several locations in and around Copenhagen. 

In 2011, Johannes Torpe’s design team approached GS Marmgren Interiors to work on the expansion of Lauras Bakery and its sister project Agnes Cupcakes. The construction of the stalls included the production of all fixtures – cabinets, showcases, worktops, and counters and their installation in two covered urban markets in Copenhagen: Torvehallerne and Magasin Shoppingcenter. 

Lauras Bakery’s store concept combines basic materials like solid oak and porcelain tiles with industrial materials like concrete and steel 

“to create a raw aesthetic that emphasises the raw and natural qualities of the bread.”
